Benefits of Stamped Concrete

In today's cost-conscious economy, many people want to be able to obtain the highest quality solutions while keeping budgetary needs in mind.

While you may want to be able to implement the most exotic building materials for the sake of aesthetics, the truth is that with cutting edge techniques, Creative Concrete Design can obtain results that will take your breath away, at a fraction of the cost.

Decorative Concrete
Long gone are the days of flat, uninteresting, and monotone concrete driveways and walkways. Instead, our expert designers can create a truly beautiful visual experience in a variety of colors and styles. Whether you want to have the look of cobblestone, flagstone, or a one of a kind visual experience, just let us know what you envision and we'll discuss the many options available.

Stamped Concrete Instead Of Interlocking Pavers
Interlocking Pavers have been around for many years. The thinking behind using interlocking pavers as a solution is that they're durable and provide a more natural look than traditional concrete. The fact is that decorative stamped concrete has many benefits over stone pavers.

Speed of Installation
Properly laying stone pavers takes a great deal of time - much more than pouring concrete. Transporting hundreds or thousands of pounds of individual pavers is both time consuming and labor intensive. Laying the pavers in the precise manner required for stability and visual results is also a lengthy process. Then, after all the pavers are in place, you need to bring in large volumes of sand to fill the cracks between each stone, vibrate the sand down, lay more sand, and vibrate again....

With stamped concrete we face none of these issues. From the time we bring in the wet product until the concrete is properly cured it's typically a fraction of the time as compared to pavers.

Settling
While we all face the issue of earthquakes here in the bay area, this is a fact that applies to all paving solutions. With interlocking pavers, it's more of a concern due to settling and subtle shifts in the landscape that are not as much a concern with stamped concrete that is installed properly.

Effortless Maintenance, No Ongoing Mess
With interlocking pavers, after the job is done, you need to continually deal with the sand - tracking it into your home is a common complaint that is non-existent with decorative stamped concrete. Replacing sand that vanishes in our bay area winter rain is another factor that you don't need to be concerned with when the job is done with stamped concrete.

Cost Factors
Generally speaking, the cost of interlocking pavers is more than decorative stamped concrete, and can sometimes be up to twice as much as having a similar job done by a professional concrete design firm.

Other disadvantages to interlocking pavers include weed control, and water intrusion among others.

The bottom line is that dollar for dollar, given today's advanced design, pattern and color techniques, stamped concrete is a much better solution. Pavers equate to higher cost - more maintenance - more challenges - so before you hire someone to install pavers, we suggest you invite us to make a bid and show you some of the amazing things we can do with concrete - you'll be truly surprised!
